Yard sale finds

Post by Ford4jack »

Went to a few yard sales last weekend looking for a blower and pipe caps to use in a wood gas project. Ended up bringing home a few ford items.

Got a owners manual for a 65 slick and a factory parts catalog for 56 ford trucks. Picked up a couple of ford seat coushions like you carry to ball games from a retired employee from a ford plant.

I was dealing with a fellow about a pile of galvinized pipe , fittings & old hot water heaters he had and noticed a 62 fairlane setting out by his garden. Ended up buying it for $250 delivered.

The fairlane is a 4 door with a 170 & 3 on the tree but its complete and was a local car according to the dso code. Just for laffs I cleaned the ignition & carb up and hooked up a lawn mower gas tank to it.

It fired up and ran way better than expected went to the next step and drove it around the yard. No brakes and the rear anchor for the seat fell thru the floor but I did get to drive it. :D

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

Must of missed that thread Slick Fan was it a 62 fairlane?

Ya know when I walked out of the house the next morning and looked at the car I really had to ask myself what posessed me to buy it. Getting it running and driving it helped some.

It's amazing where you can run across things. When I had my 1967 Cougar XR-7 I found 3 nice original hubcaps at a thrift store, this gave me a set of 6!
