wood bed mount blocks
wood bed mount blocks
does anyone have the dimensions and a good type of wood to use. I was thinking oak or cedar might be good. Also what should I use for the little rubber strips between the wood and the frame?

You need something hard that won't split.
Both of the woods you mentioned will do just that.
Ask about some bald clear grain cypress or maybe even teak.
I have an extra set that a friend made for me if you're interested. He used my originals for a template and some kind of exotic wood that they use for Japanese nunchuks and oil soaked them.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

A dense but not brittle plastic would be an option too.

Red oak is porus and white oak would be better because it is water tight. If you will boil them in linseed oil they will last for a very long time. Get pipe that will allow them to slide into and get out when they swell from the oil. Place a rock or something on top of them and pore the linseed oil over them until they are covered place on heat sorce and boil slowly for several minutes. keep a check on the oil and add befor it gets below the blocks . osage orange is good also. very resistant to rot . Post oak is good. Any hardwood is ok but some are better than others. Thats why whiskey barrels are made from white oak and not red oak, plus a few other reasons. I have a woodworking shop that I build horse drawn vehicles in and I would be glad to make several of these if your pay for the lumber and shipping.

have pulled fence post out of the ground that have been buried for
close to 75 years....still solid as the day they went in
but i doubt that you would be able to find any at the lumber store
