What is your new year resolution for your slick???

Post by jwh f-100 »

1. The first thing will be to resolve Sylvia's engine issues and put in a taller rear while things are apart.

2. Replace the bed floor. All new crossmembers and panels.

3. Suspension work. Including all new pins & bushings, dismantle & clean all the leafs and probably remove one or two, new shocks, and a sway bar.

4. This would be a bonus.. The interior. Including New seat/seats, carpet, paint the interior of the new doors, install all new seals on the new doors and install on the truck.

What is your new year resolution for your slick???

i hear that.

i am making some progress on my early resolution to clean up my parts mess though.

i can see the top of the bench, and even walk around without kicking or tripping on something. built some shelves and still have a bunch of sorting to do but i took a big bite out of it so far.

Cool idea for a thread.

For the year:

1) dual master cylinder and disc brakes.

2) the "right" wheels and tires - Wheel Vintiques 15x7 and 15x8's (?).

3) finish the 351C rebuild

4) mount the 351C and C6

5) measure / have driveshaft altered.

6) new front valence / pan treatment. I removed the front bumper, and I like how it looks - I also like the stone guard in place, so I'm contemplating fabbing "something".

The first five items are based on being able to stay employed.

my goal is to finish it by middle of May 2009.

But....... with all the snow we are getting my time is pretty much spent plowing, fixing tractor, fixing tractor, plowing, plowing, plowing, fixing tractor!

If this keeps up I will have to trade the slick for a snowmobile so I can make it to town for groceries..

My Goals starting in the spring is to get busy on all the body work (I won't do body work in my garage). Pick a color (and not change my mind). Get the body painted and back on the frame before next winter so I can work on the interior in the garge over the winter.

Got a good tranny in the brand X plow rig just in time and have been doing the same as Resto ever since plow, plow, plow. I will be plowing today same as yesterday. These darn storms keep rolling in. Just as you get cleaned up from one here comes another. I'll post some pix later on today.

Every one have a Merry Christmas and eat till you can't eat any more.
Enjoy.

What I want to do with my 62 this year.
Ignition switch replaced
new water pump before the one on it fails "292 Y block"
New brakes
Change the rear end "howls more than I like"
In all reality it needs a complete resto but I want to drive it for another year. Maybe next winter's project with the rotissiory finished would make short work of the project.

Collect the parts to fix the damage to the 66.
Thanks to friends from here, the bed has been located.
Trying to decide which chrome bumpers to get.
Either find nice front fenders or take a big leap and buy some of the new aftermarket fenders. Wish I knew if they are any good.

Finally do some of the ideas I have been wanting to since I got the Slick. Turning my lemons into lemonade.

Install dual master cylinder, front disk brakes, and dropped I-beams that are in my shop.

Finish headliner.
If you continue to buy imports, where will your children work?
