why is it

seems i always see the rustiest trucks with unhacked dashes , then there will be nicer ones with a garage door size hole where the radio was.

Isn't that a radio in front of the taller shifter?

Yep I found this behind the radio in mine. Removed it so I could paint the interior yesterday.

Yea I know BirdDog. I hope the radio I'm going back with fills it up.
It has a thin metal plate behind the face plate so it should be ok, I hope.

I literally fit a foot ball though the hole that was in my dash.....why someone thought a radio required a hole with the same profile of a foot ball I may never know....and probably dont want to hear the logic behind.

Would an engine get that oiley in only 15000 miles? Most of the time people clean an engine when they rebuild.

Yep, my dash has a slightly too large for a stereo gashed hole in it. I still can't figure out how or why it was done. By the way my dash is perfect besides that. :x

Both of my trucks are radio delete, not touching either one. I have one sheetmetal screw hole in the middle of my otherwise pristine dash in my uni, still trying to figure that one out. I put a small ford emblem over to hide it.

Who would pay $700 for that! I guess I am spoiled with much better sheet metal out here! My mustang dash is also terrible, chopped and crooked :(

The dash on my 66 was hacked out to install a 1962 Falcon AM only radio. Sad, as it came with a factory AM. I just don't get the logic behind this move. It does not bother me as much as it strikes me as very odd. Thanks, Lyman.

You guys might hate me, my '61's dash is absolutely un-touched, no giant hole or anything. I don't have a factory radio, and the truck's probably going to stay that way.

Well, just as a tribute to every slick owner that has had trouble finding a truck with an unmolested dash, my dashboard will only have the holes Ford put in it from the factory. Now if only I could get a big air compressor to run dad's sand blaster I could get the rest of my '61 finished.
