well, the Willys is sitting at the bottom of my driveway and although it isn't my slick it is my next project. Over the last week we had 6" of snow and then an Ice storm that took out my power monday night. (still without power and running on generator) I just thought you all might enjoy a good snow pic of a future ride. Anthony [albumimg]5091[/albumimg]

Looks cool, hard to tell from pic, but it looks like it might already be sprung over, reverse shackle in front?

What is going in it for power......I like Jeeps.

It is a 60 Willys sitting on a 80 model blazer chassis. Since I am going to have the slick for a 4x4 the Willys is looking like a street rod kinda thang'. It is 104" wheelbase. for simplicity I am looking at early 80's S-10 because the frame can be slid to match wheelbase which in turn will lead to a chevy power plant. I can't go too low or I can't make it home..[albumimg]5092[/albumimg].....It's a country thing  although I have considered an 86 full size bronco since they are 104"s already. I really like the rod idea though. looking at a year before start on it unfortunately. "only one project at a time" wifey rule # 1,2, and 3  Anthony

Since the running gear in the willy's is ruined already, might as well make her a street rod. If it still had the original gear I would do something bad to you for ruining her.

I think it would be a fun project, good luck with her.

My dad had a 54 Willys 4x4 years ago. We would all pile in and trail ride. It had a 283 chevy in the stock frame, geared like a tractor, and would go anywhere. It was a rusty POS.

My Dad had one too with a 302, original gearing. It would do 50 mph going up hill or downhill, didn't matter. It was quite rusty as I remember and the fenders used to flap in the wind. Don't think He's had a 4x4 since that would go the places that one did.
