Started seam sealing

I started seam sealing yesterday on the hood and then went to the door steps this afternoon. What a pain that is to do and make it look nice. My next goal will be to try and get this to the painter on the weekend of March 28th (if he is available). We are going to spray door jambs, bottom of hood, and backs of fenders with single stage Fire red Metallic, and the outside with red. Then I will bring it back, assmble it and fix anything that we don't like. Then back to the paint shop for the final coat of Fire Red Metallic basecoat/clearcoat on the outside.
I keep making progress and will someday get done if I don't fall out of work before then.

I started with au-ve-co seam sealer. I am going to switch to 3M - 08500 autobody sealant. The supplier tells me that it is easier to work with. It couldn't be harder to work with. The edges of the doors will be done with the 3M sealant tape so it will look like a newer car factory edge. It should look good when it is all done. My neighbor is a retired body man and he is guiding me on the body work and he is picky. I should have kept track of the hours that we have in body work but it would probably scare me.

Kevin, Nice work mate!, can you tell me !, did you lift the cab with those chains?, and if so, how well did it work?,and have you any shots of it being lifted.

My neighbor works for BEER, although that can get expensive. I did go to his house and put a bunch of floor tile in his house for him so it all works out in the end.

I picked the cab up with the chain in the middle and had 2 people to steady it and it came off without any problems. I used my engine hoist to lft it up and pulled it off the side. I plan to put it back the same way. I do think that I will get 4 people to help with the install so that nothing will go wrong, will go wrong, will go wrong.

I will try to take pics of that operation.

Not being much of a body-work man myself, would a seal sealer like this be a good thing to use to redo the rubber seams on the roof roof/cab seam on a Uni? I was thinking about just grinding them clean and fill-welding them.

Any other suggestions?
PS the truck is going all the way to bare metal, brfore priming so I have a lot of options.

I think that the seam sealer would work for the back seam, but I wouldn't try to make it flush. I would just fill it enough to keep any water out of the seam. I welded mine mine because I wanted the smooth look at the back of the cab. It was worth the extra effort to me.
