Front turn signal relocation

Post by bluebolt »

I have been considering relocating (hiding) the front turn signals on my 1966 F100 and using an earlier 61-64 panel without the cutouts. Any one done this or have pics? I did a search but no luck.

I did it on my '65. used trailier lights mounted on the radiator support and a '63 panel. It looks very clean and visually lowers the truck. there are several photos of my truck in the slick stock 3 photos. Kid did this on his truck too.

I removed the upper valence on my 65 and put in one from a 63 and I put the turn signals in the headlights. I bought them at a Goodguys event but I am sure you can get them about anywhere............Kid

Found this F100 with a 1965 grille which has the look I am after although I will use the 1966 grille. Also I found similar turn signal headlights that don't have the amber on the bottom until they light up, makes them less noticeable.

I have thought about doing the same. I had a decent 61-64 valance but I had a fit of bad judgement and gave it away. Worse part was is that I think it got scrapped. :(

I"d love to do something like this with my 64, but I don't want to get rid of the 64 grille. Does anyone know of a repro grille that does not have the turn signal lights in it? Or has anyone modified theirs after taking the lamps out?? Any ideas would be much appreciated!

I had the same idea but was thinking of installing the signals behind the grill.

I got a set of Halogen headlights with replaceable bulbs off Ebay, you can drill them out to install the turn signals - $47.00. There are alot of choices on there too - I got 3 bars.
1964 F 100 - I am going to do "something" with it.......
