Busy day today

Post by wyatt »

I got to thinking about the thread with the hub cap air cleaner. One thing lead to another and well, Here is the result of what happened today in my garage.

The hub cap is held on with a wiper motor arm welded to the inside that has a nut welded in the center.
The battery hold down is also a wiper motor arm.
The catch can is a brass can we bought at an auction that was used by the electric company for something. All I know is it has their name on it.
Then I painted my intake to put on my truck when we put it back together.
And this busy day was all started because someone fueled my brain with a dang hub cap air cleaner.
What a day.

Thanks guys.
That's what I like about this club. You never know what you're going to see when you sign on. That hub cap thingy just got my attention.
Maybe my wife should tie a hub cap around her neck. oops.gif
(I can't believe I said that.) She's good to me too.

Yes the cap works like a giant wing nut. Just tighten down until she's snug. I figure it will make great conversations at shows too. I had to trim the ring (lip) off the back so it would blend in with the air cleaner and look as if it were part of it. I wanted to paint it black like the air cleaner but it looks good silver too. Take notice how the grooves on the air cleaner line up with the grooves on the hub cap? Couldn't have worked out any better.

The puke can is what we made from a can we bought at the auction a few weeks ago. The other expansion tank in front of the motor came with the motor when I bought it. Probably from the Fairlane the guy ran the motor in.

Hope nobody posts anything else unusual.

I've been watching the progress on the chopped top that twistedfreak is doing. Let's hope I don't find another slick somewhere. Mama would not be happy :rotflmao:

Gotta love slick60s! View a post on air cleaners and by the end of the day your painting manifolds. Next thing you know were going to get pics of your frame getting powder coated.

Looks cool. Put a valve stem on the black part that will really throw them off..

Are you using the original battery tie down hole in the tray. Looks empty in the one pic but cant tell in the other.. If not it makes a nice spot to mount a kill switch..
