that is a real nice truck i do know from past experience that you can put the 1/2 ton suspension right to the 3/4 springs but the drive shaft for the 3/4 will be 4" shorter than the 1/2 one

I have one that i am thinking about painting up to match my 66 custom cab

I agree I would build both

seems hard to beleave that the slicks can bring that kind of price to them my 66 has less than 55k on it

I went to the grocery store and got a can of stuff called BRASSO that and a little elbow grease and the grill in my 66 looked good as new

I made mine out of some 1x4 boards and some 1/4 inch ply and some time to paint and i am happy with it.

my 66 custom cab 2x4 came in at 4400lbs. My dads 66 4x4 came in at 4700lbs both trucks only had about 1/4 tank of feul

that is cool. truck that size the guy could park it anywhere he chooses

If it is the short throttle I used one from a newer chevy blazer with a minor mod it works perfectly.

found some stuff that works really good for polishing the aluminimun on the slicks, it is called brasso and some elbow grease.

As far as I can tell the switch has to be on for them to be powered up did not know that until I bought my truck. My dad has had his since the early 80's and never thought much about it until I got mine and triied to figure out why my brake lights were not working.

I know there were a couple of them down on a 144th on the south side of division. One of them looks like it has been sitting for a while it is covered in moss.

Took my slick to Portland oregon this week and seen quite a few of them parked in yards along the way never relized that they were that popular.

I agree I would rather drive my slick then buy one of these plastic and coors beer can trucks they are making these days. You knoe that if you rub on a new car long enough you will find budweiser,coors,pepsi and coke names under the paint.
