Sounded good but the back ones are not 100% connnected. they are just there. that will get fixed but I just had to move it and see what happened. At least now work will progress as I have mostly clean up to do.Brian Taylor wrote:How did it sound with both mufflers??
That is the best thing I have seen in a while, man I am stoked!

I have done a lot of work in the last week (off all week) on the crew. Most all the wiring is done. Needs lights wired, and gauges now. I ran it around the yard on xmas once but got a lot of blow back from the radiator. Lots of yucky stuff in that engine.
Today I backed the truck up and flushed it about 5 times until she ran clear. Put some vinger in it also and cleaned it all up. Next drain the system and filled with antifridgent and water. Then I ran it around the yard again.
Brian T did come up today and helped me with the flushing of the crew. He couldn't stop laughing at my 12 gauge wire gas peddel.
(some pics below. Updated because I got my web site working again. Yea..)

I have been getting some things done on the crew. A couple weeks ago I blasted most of the front sheet metal but since then it's just been to darn cold out side to do much with it much less shoot some paint. Next week should be a lot warmer so I will try something then.
I did how ever finally got 4 new rims for her. I went with the 8 on 6.5 white wagon wheels. They boys at the tire shop just couldn't fathum why I wanted them but I think they look good on these old trucks. at least they do on mine.
I got 265-75 R16 I like the big tires on the crew cab. Hopefully these are not to wide for the front if they are I will go to the 245 tires. uggg will do more measuring this weekend.
Now for the pictures.
Before

The tread pattern.

After

With the naked fender on. I'm not for sure how much the upper movment will be I will have to measure the bump stops.

I sure do like the stance. For sure nothing lowered.

Those will go real well with the white on the truck.
I know how you feel with the cold - keeping things moving slow here too.
Looking good Chris.

Chris, those new wheels look good on there. Low maintenance, too. I like the painted steelies a lot just for that reason. TR

It has been a while since I updated my build. Haven't really done to much work until the past few weekends.
Got to get it done before the clock starts.
Blasted and expoyed (primer) the front fenders, then I sprayed the SPI bedliner on the inside.

A small amount of body filler and lots of sanding I was ready to shoot build up primer. Sure is hot out there right now. 100 ish degrees.

After the 2k primer. Got some sanding to do as the gun was runing like crap and leaking on me. Time for a rebuild kit.

Hopefully I will get some sanding done this coming weekend but will not shoot any more paint until I get the rebuild kit can't have the guns not working like they should.
That is all for now.

Chris, I've seen those fenders 100 times or more and never thought about them being the big wheel opening type.
Can't wait to see some color on those.
Might want to wait until fall to spray color though.
Cooler temps, like 70s, works a lot better for me. TR

Wow what a great weekend we had around here. I got lucky and mine was a 3 day weekend. I don't think the temps got above 90 and most of the time it was in the low 80s. For sure a great weekend compared to this really hot summer. Anyhow got a lot of work done in the shop and to the crew cab. Yea finally getting an update for this project.
Fenders in Grey primer

Fenders, valnace, door panels in the Buff. (HA buff/Yellow primmer I had to buy more so why not sure did help when sanding to know if I went to far or not.)

Finally Stuff painted blue but still needing Clear coat (which is drying right now)

Now with clear coat applied. All in all not bad some imprefections but hey this ain't no show truck.

My wife going crazy cuz it smells. HA

The kids even got to play on the ladder.
