Dang, sorry to hear you got hurt. Take my word for it - let yourself heal right. The truck will be there when you're ready.

UPDATE!! 2/3/2011
haven't been on here for quite sometime. Just have had some bad luck towards the end of the 2010 year. Got laid off and was out of a job up until mid January now just trying to get back on my feet.
Now on to the 66, i did go out to flower mound and picked up a whole bed for about $100. Now my question to you guys is, the little "tool box" on the side of the bed rare or worth any money? If so i believe it is detachable so how much do you think its worth if i was to take it off at try to sell it?
Here is a picture of the truck with the bed just laid on top of the frame not bolted on or anything. I just did it for motivation to keep on working on it.

Re: UPDATE!! 2/3/2011
Great price on the bed!!! As for the "little tool box", the purists seem to love them but personally, I think they are an eyesore! I don't know what it's worth but if it's in really good shape I'd bet you could get some decent bucks for it.66Bullitt wrote: Now on to the 66, i did go out to flower mound and picked up a whole bed for about $100. yea i thought so too, it does need a new floor but I was just feeling lazy and didnt want to cut the long bed so i got on craigslist and found this one.

The guy i bought it from actually was restoring one as well, it looked really nice, i asked him to come on here and post guess he hasent as of yet....
I think these things were notorious for getting beat up and rusted out so for anyone who's doing an original style restoration with a predicament like that, this little tool box could be just what they're looking for. That's why I think there's a market for it. I don't know if the short bed & long bed tool boxes were the same size though. If not, since this is a short bed tool box, it's even more rare. Maybe post it on ebay and see what happens....slickmainer wrote:im not sure of the value of that, id think the market would be small since i doubt most would want to cut a hole in their bed to fit one in.

The long bed tool boxes are bigger than the short bed ones. Post it on the for sales and you will find a buyer.
Can not wait to see the bullitt swap, I have been over to Txslick66 s house and he is doing will with the CV swap on his ride. Just this cold weather has slowed everyone down.
Keep up the pics.

Maybe you've already sold your "tool box", but if not, here's what someone on ebay thinks they're worth.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-1964 ... _500wt_95666Bullitt wrote: Now on to the 66, i did go out to flower mound and picked up a whole bed for about $100. Update 4/18/2011
well it has been a couple of months since i have updated this thread but wanted to keep you guys updated. Just has been really hard with work and planning a wedding. The truck being about 45 miles away from my house doesn't help either haha
as for the tool box I am going to keep it...since every slick i see doesn't have one....
here is a pic of one of the notches me and my buddy built....

here they are done and welded ready to be welded on to the frame..

here is the slick with no frame....hopefully i can get to this point soon....

here are the notches on the frame ready to be welded... next is the custom four link set up.
