Gary I don't know about not needing help from you buddy, we all need help. This grasshopper did learn a lot from you. I was talking to my self when doing this and repeting the things I learned from you.

The fun task will be respraying the clear on the roof. Need to build some stands.

Max - Cooler weather will there soon hang in there.

Mark - If I have more weekends like this past one it will be ready very soon.

I am finally getting around to uploading these pictures. I took them a couple of weeks ago since is was a nice sunny day out. Enjoy.

I am throwing this first one in for comparison. It was taken Dec 7th 2008 it has been that long wow. Hopefully I will get some more work done this weekend I should have some DC stuff coming in friday.

Looks good in the tutone blue and white. If I do another truck after my two it will be a CrewCab 4x4.

I will redo the seats in vinly or something like that. Head liner will be an after thought as I want the truck at slickstock this next year. I will most likly get the foam back martieral and build my own. The floor with be a ACC rubber mat. I do also plan on building an over head console at some point. Other than that not much todo on the inside for now.

cool, there is an 65 F250 crew in my pick and pull that has the surrounding headliner pieces. I could buy them and find a way to make copies and send them to you. the top is missing but the sides are there (on side is cracked but both halfs are there)

What a 65 crew in picknpull! Someone needs to save that before it goes to the crushers

it has no engine or transmission, fenders, inner fenders, hood, grill, core or bed. and the roof has a dip in the middle where water gathers.

comes with a cab, doors, gauge cluster, wheel and column. I've never asked how much he wants for it but it would need almost everything.

So it appears a 65 f250 crew takes the square/flat fenders, does that mean it also takes the same core support as a 65 F100?

Also what 70s truck frames can be used to replace a 65 crew frame? what is the length of a crew cab frame?

I would assume the front doors are the same as the regular cabs, hood, fenders, inner fender and steering column all the same?

my wheels are turning for a 65 f250 crew project. If nothing else than save it from rotting into the ground.

It takes the front frenders, inners fenders, core support as a regualr 65 truck does. The frame looks to be a long bed truck frame. I put the 76 ish front suspension on with power steering box to get disc, etc.

I know the 70's frame should work but won't say for sure, they did get wider in the 70's. I think if you use a 65/66 long bed frame you could move the rear cab mounting backwards and all is good.

The front doors are the same as any of our slicks (except uni's I think). the rear doors are actually front doors that were cut down. That gets into the harder fabbing part.

Long stroy shor other than some frame mods and rear doors it is the same as any other 65/66 truck just a crew instead of single cab.

thanks for the info. This 65 f250 crew in the junkyard near (unknown price) me has no bed so I was thinking of just swapping the cab over to a 70s frame to get all the power goodies, then adding a flat bed with removable wood racks on the side.

Just didn't know if I had to look for a 70s crew frame, a 70's extended cab, or a 70's long bed. (heck all those could be the same, i don't really know)

The crew in the yard is pretty well stripped down. missing hood, inners, outers, core, radiator and grill. I have a really nice 64 core so that was why I was asking about the inners.

I figured it was time for an update. I had the last week off of 2011 off of work and got some stuff done on the crew. I got the driver door to open correctly, the fender needed a slight bit of adjustment. I also got some more wiring done and the strobes installed (mostly).

Also finished the balsting of the hood and rock guard. The rock guard really needed blasting. I had one great day with the temps at 75 ish so I sprayed these parts in expoy. Step one done.

I also noticed that there were no holes in the hood to mount the badge thing (f100, f250,etc). So I got to looking and it looks like 65/66 were mounted in the fender. Well my fenders don't have the holes. I am thinking of just drilling the holes in the hood even tho it is not period correct. Hey it is a crew cab so the rules don't apply right.

Did some work on the crew cab this weekend. It didn't feel like I did much but was doing other work in the shop as well. Here is some pics for every one.

At least I know what rpms the eninge is at. One gauge at a time.

Hood Emblem Holes (yes I know this is a 65 but I wasn't gonna drill holes in the painted fenders). I have other plans up my sleeve for this Emblem. You will have to see that in person when its completed. I don't think I've told anyone what my plans are. hummmm
