I just measured mine. It's 38 3/4" to the bottom of the cowl. Mine's wearing 235/75-15's. What tires are you running? I'm running 235/70-15 roughly 1" shorter than yours. I went outside and started rolling the truck back and forth earlier and noticed that the truck was kind of trying to r...

Stock Height Question

Here is my situation guys, I bought new coils for my truck because the others were just plain worn out. Now my truck sits wayyyy to high in the front. The wheels are all out of wack because of how high it sits. I was just wondering about where the truck was supposed to sit from the factory. I measur...

Almost Ready To Drive

Well my slick has been out of commission for about a year now after the 400 took a dump, but now she is almost ready for action again. Got the new engine and trans in and put a 2.75 gear in the 9" for cruising. The only things that I lack from driving it everyday now are the new steering links ...

The J hook limits the travel of the I beam thus keeping the spring from falling out. I would just hate for that to fail. Mine doesn't have the hook on the top bucket, maybe the PO removed them...

Thanks for the link Alan. Looks like mine just the J hook I've got circled. The hat shaped thing just sits on top of the bolt that holds the radius arm to the I Beam. I might just put some kind of strap across the top coil to hold it to the bucket for some added protection. http://i651.photobucket.c...

Spring Retainer Question

Today I was under my '65 checking out the leaking power steering box shaft seal and noticed that my springs didn't have any kind of spring retainers other than some J type hooks on the beams that hooked into a pocket on the frame. Was there ever any kind of retainer on the top or bottom of the coils...

I used a 79 manual m/c on mine and made a spacer to mount it to the firewall without cutting the rod, but you can always modify the push rod.

I just looked at the pic. and kinda went off what you said about the 2.5" OD. But give us some dimensions on the piece. Just take this print into paint and type some numbers in. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu238/jeremyfx4/tentpartpic2.jpg http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu238/jeremyfx...

I use solidworks for the 3d modeling and I program with Surfcam. I made the spacer on a FADAL 40x20, I also use it to program some charmille wire machines we have. Been using surfcam ever since I started in the trade and it has been really good until recently ( lots of bugs). I have a training versi...

Grits, I'm from the Coldwater that is about 30 miles south of Memphis, Tn. As for the fab skills, I actually have none LOL. I can draw it and machine it but when it comes to actual hand fab skills I have none.

Mounting a 79 F-100 Master Cylinder

Well I've decided to go with the 79 f100 manual brake m/c. The rod that comes with it is way too long to work and I didn't want to cut and weld the rod so I started making a spacer today. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu238/jeremyfx4/Photo0061.jpg http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu238/jeremy...

Here is my brake/mc setup that was on my truck, maybe some of you guys can tell whether it is original or not. I think i'm just going to take out the power brakes and go with the manual m/c off of something else, i'm going to try one off of a 79 f100 w/manual brakes and w/front disc. http://i651.pho...

Thanks for the info guys, if it is not factory then it looks like the ones you see in bumpside trucks, but it has the 65 type single pot mc mounted. So maybe i just need to buy a mc for the bump trucks and see how it works out. I figured the rod would just pull out but neither the one that goes from...
