Very simple, the kentucky fix would be to punch a hole through the rear window, insert chain trough hole, around door post through open door window, and wire both ends of chain together. Door will not come open. Or you could just avoid left hand turns. Either method is fool proof and is very inexpen...

I'll be around tomorrow. Probably hit town around 10 or so. Leaving N. Ky. in about 30 minutes. Got lucky and scored some tickets to the NASCAR race in Charlotte for Sat. night. Hope to see some of you!

When do you all head to the tracks? Do you got to the NASCAR track or somewhere else. I'll be over there after the show on Friday.

Once I scrolled the picture I realized what it was, your on the west side right, Hodge or Lindsey maybe? I have seen that Chebby a time or two. I'm in south Bellevue off Memorial Pkwy. The only extra's I have right now are a tailgate and the original I-beams and spindles I removed when I lowered it.

All very convincing arguements. And just like my question about the shocks a couple weeks ago, I'm even more confused now :?

Thanks for all the info. The 351w is a good idea compared to the 302. The truck is going to be strictly street, no hauling, no dragging, no trailer queen either. As far as money goes, the sky's the limit. My budget is unlimited up to say 50 bucks. Maybe 75 if I splurdge a little.

Welcome to the group. I too am from dear old N. Ky. and that truck looks a little familiar as does the red fairlane across the street. I'm in Bellevue and you've probably seen my turquise 66 Galaxie 500 a time or two. You'll find this group of people very helpful in many ways. Good luck with your pr...

Now there's an idea. Are there any other mods you had to do to the motor to convert from EFI to carb? I have an extra manifold and carb from a 289 we had on the 67 Mustang.

15! That's good enough for me. Hell, my 90 F-150 with 5.0 5spd doesn't do much better! :)

I'm liking the 390/C6 more and more. That was my original intention anyway. Damn kids can be persuasive sometimes but I think I'll leave the FI stuff to him and his Mustang buddies. That aod adapter sure makes me scratch my head though. 10 mpg cuts like a knife these days!

Thanks for the info. $750 is a little more than I care to spend right now though. But I'll keep that in mind.

The fuel system and the wiring are what's worrying me the most. I really like the 390 set up but would also like to have overdrive and better fuel mileage. Do they make an aod that will bolt up to and FE?

Which Motor???

Ok, here's my next dilemma. Up until recently I've been fully satisfied with using a 390/C6 set up in my 66 short bed. I have the motor and tranny left over from my 66 Galaxie project. My son has been trying to persuade me to use a 5.0/aod with fuel injection and I do have access to one in a 88 F-15...
