The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

The whole chassis should fit under a '65 or a '66.... I believe. I am putting my '66 on a '76 highboy and it fit... All the upgrades in one package... 8)

A 65-66 2WD truck cab-forward will bolt on to frame from 73-79. The bed requires more work because the frame is 4 inches wider and the wheelbase is 4 inches longer than a Slick. It may be a worthwhile swap only if you want frame mounted fuel tank(s), wider rear track. longer wheelbase and updated front suspension. I am doing this on a 66 F250 because I want to use it for towing. Not sure if it is worth it, unless you are good at welding and metal fabrication (I'm not!). :?

More info available here:http://www.fordification.com/tech/chass ... arison.htm This was written for a 67-72 "bumpside,' so it isn't completely correct for a 65, but you get the idea of what is involved. Happy to assist if you decide to do the swap, and there are others here who've done it.

f250 4x4s are different. so are the dually f350s. they did not widen out the frame.

on the 2wd f100/250 if you just mount the bed on the frame there will be a larger gap between the bed and cab and you need to drill new holes in the bed floor.
