Scrap yard uni

Post by bluebolt »

Here's some pics of a 62 Ford long bed uni near me in a scrap metal yard. Guy says he will take $800 for it. Has a 302 and C6 with an Edelbrock performer intake and a carter 4 barrel carb. Tailgate doesn't look too bad, radio hole is hacked out. No title.

I could be interested in the core support (if it's good), the hood, and........????
On the "layback" plan of course :-)

Title of thread sounds like a Sir Mix-A-Lot song.

"Scrap yard Uni" instead of "Swap Meet Louie".

I haven't checked on a truck bought in Louisiana (assuming this truck is in Louisiana and not Texas), but to get a title for a truck purchased in Mississippi titled in Louisiana you need a notarized bill of sale and you must have the vin number verified by the local Highway Patrol HQ. Not sure if the local gendarmes are savvy enough to know about the frame serial number or if they would go by the "warranty tag". Knowing how many times the doors, tags etc are changed on these trucks it would be a crap shoot. I recently passed on a Mississippi truck because of this "unknown" factor.

Here I walk in with two bills of sale or two registrations and 35 bucks, walk out with a title and permanent plates. Some things are good here...
So good lookin' that I've attracted an international stalker.

Rest in Peace Bumpstick....I miss ya man.

Almost forgot. I did have to have the VIN inspection....nice airhead walked out and looked at the warranty plate. I told her the vin # was stamped on the frame and asked if she wanted to see it (cause I was looking forward to seeing her up on the trailer and bent over hehehe), she asked if the number was the same? Of course....I said!
