Obviously alot more to do yet but you can get an idea of what I'm thinking for a finished look. That isn't actually rust on the firewall, just various forms of yuck, lol.

Looking good Greg. See you've got a set of those "hillbilly headers" like I have on my uni.

Looks good. Getting the firewall to look good has been a pain in the butt for me.

Valve covers & air cleaner both came from Ebay stores. I am not sure when I will get back to cleaning & painting, it's almost a waste of time because it will all get redone anyway. Even the paint on the inner fenders & support are a quicky clean it up kill the bad rust & spray it all together with rustoleum job. The drivers side inner fender had a pretty serious spot under the battery so it got cleaned up with blue lightning & painted just for preservation purposes.

That looks schweet!
Are you storing the clamp in the middle of the fuel line there for later use?

A buddy of mine was here helping me hook everything up. I am not sure why he left the extra clamp o the fuel line but it will come off.
I have been trying to chase down an exhaust leak on the passenger side and replaced the gasket. As soon as I tightened it up I found the leak, cracked manifold flange.
:cussing:
Guess I am going to need a manifold, hopefully I can get one before Slick Stock or we may be coming down in the Fusion. I would be worried the other side will let go on the trip. :( Will a car manifold work on the passenger side?

That's a bummer. :( Maybe you could take it off & have it welded? :dontknow:

Maybe, I found a craigslist ad for some Y block car parts for $50. Pretty sure the passenger side manifold will work. He responded to my email late yesterday saying he a potential buyer but he is waiting for the guy to actually show up with $, he'll let me know. I actually wouldn't mind picking up a pair of car manifolds, someone over on Y blocks forever got them to work on a truck.

That soap might have to be pretty magic.. what type are you talking about?
Nice looking motor Greg. looks like it should be in there (and it SHOULD)

may be the angle of the pic but that rubber gas line looks scarily able to touch the exhaust pipe

and you really need to cough up for a set of ram horns old son
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

I need to adjust the fuel line however not because of the exhaust, it touches the water pump. I may just make one or adapt a cable bracket attached to a spare hole or under one of the bolts in the water pump to stabilize it.
I am still undecided on rams horns or headers, I will take care of that as $ allows and after I make up my mind which I want. Getting a new carb (should be a 500 not a 600) and a T-5 in it will likely come first though. I am also looking to change the rear gears to a lower numerical ratio first.
Thanks for the complements guys, it was really more plain old work than money to get it done.
