wide wheels?
wide wheels?
I've been looking at the photos from Slick Stock and noticed the look of the trucks with wider wheels on the rear. Has anyone installed a wider rim in a stock innie wheel? When I was a teener, we used to knock the rivets out of wheels and reverse them, I think if you had wheels with the same inner diamenter this could be done. Give a hot rod look to the stock wheels. Just thinking it could be a cool way to get the wide tires on a slick...

If my memory serves me we used caddilac rims as they were the widest you could find oem (junk yard) and welded in ford truck centers to the offset we wanted. We would tack and check the trueness with a old spindle and brake assembly welded to a piece of pipe driven in the ground. Adjustments were made with a five pound sledge. I have been over the century mark with those rims and they seemed to be OK.

Technology? We didn't need any stinking technology. Nothing like shade tree engineering. Those were the days.Bills 66 wrote:We would tack and check the trueness with a old spindle and brake assembly welded to a piece of pipe driven in the ground. Adjustments were made with a five pound sledge.Bill
