What is your new year resolution for your slick???

my NYR (1) get my pics of my 65 shortie on this site (2) get my rearend swap done (3) wud love to make a swap meet or two wth my 6 yr old son in my little blue short wide.

1. My resolution is simple get the crew cab painted and runing. Still need to find a good tailgate for a style side bed. Hummm maybe I will find a good one at Pate this year.

2. Start working on prep and paint the 64. She's not been to happy with me since the crew cab showed up. But I did change out the starter yesterday so she's not so mad at me right now.

Well after a disapointing attempt to get a bump I`ve decided to rebuild Beryl as my new work truck this year! as well as finish some odds and ends on Lenore IE; door trim and consul, here`s pic`s of Beryl and my progress

I am still loking for my first slick LOL. A buddy has TWO crewcab 66's but won't sell me one LOL.

It's called a fifth of whiskey and I bet you might get one of them. Just make sure they sign the contract before they sober up... If that doesn't work break out the ever clear..

Worst case you might have some fun but please don't drive either crew until a day or so later just to make sure. Listen at me dang...

My resolutions

Quit leaking oil all over everything from my crappy fabricated oilpan

NOT bend my valves again (I will cheat with an MSD Rev Limiter)

Run a bit better due to Performer RPM and MSD (and repaired intake valves)

Lean toward less destructive methods of repair (I killed one of my pretty Mercury valve covers with a torch and brazing rod because of some pinholes in it)- Big mistake. A dollop of JB Weld would have fixed it beautifully........... but it's too late for that now though.

Simple, get a second slick running.

I have a 65 frame freshly powder coated with front disk brakes and the rear end completely gone thru.

I have a cab and front fenders primered but no bed.

I just bought a 69 f250 donor vehicle for the v-8 engine, transmission, power steering and power brakes.

I plan on putting them in the garage, mixing them all up and hope to come away with an extra 65 slick that can be driven by a girl.

(Mine has 4 drum brakes, a straight 6, no power steering and 3 gears. Not to female friendly and I like it that way.)

Last years NYR was to not do NYR's anymore. so far, it's working great!

Every time I did one, I jinxed myself & it didn't work out. Now I'm just doing stuff as it comes.

My NYR will be to get the 289 C-4 installed in my 65 before the Western Nats, and just drive the hell out of my 66

Finish my 66 long bed trailer, from the parts truck.
Keep my trucks clean, Wash and wax more often.

I gave my 66 that Custom Classic Truck look today after i washed it.

I hope to decide which truck (65 or 66) to put my good cab on. The 66 is in top mechnical condition, but I loose the use of it during the restore. The 65 has been parked since about 1992, so it needs LOTS of mechanical attention. And just think, I bought the 66 for parts!
