If your planning a original restore I would tape any bolts you do not want covered in paint before you send it out, otherwise
everything get's painted and it is a pain to remove paint after it's on the bolts! ie, door regulator bolts, window channel bolt's
you get the idea!...my 2 cent's.

Well, the omly thing I know about guege voltage regulator is if is not plugged into the ground on your dash insert it will peg the fuel/temp guages all the way to the right!, it has to be grounded on the metal part of the dash, there is a spade connector that it plugs into behind the dash to a metal...

Just a thought? sometimes if the weather is cold enough the battery looses some of it's umff? or starter get's froze up? I have heard of such things happening up in the frozen tundra ? just saying cold weather and batteries don't always mix My 2 cent's....PS, did I mention I live in SUNNY fLORIDA......

I had the same issue on my truck!, worked on it for at least 6 hours and then decided to loosen all the hinge bolts on the door, top and bottom just enough to move it with a little pressure and did the same with the striker plate, then closed the door real slow and easy till it shut all the way and ...
