every time i walk past my slick's drivers door i smell gas from the vented gas cap. has anybody made there truck environmently friendly with a non vented cap & a vent hose to the engine? i tried a search & didn't find anything.

when i need to repair a slightly worn linkage shaft, anchor bolt or pivot point i use a steped steel golf shaft. it has OD's from 5/16" to just under 5/8" in length's from 1" to 2" in some sizes. stiffer flexes will have more wall thickness.

i ran across a post on a BMW message board on how to make your own leather cleaner & i think works quite well!!
03% soap, i used car wash
10% rubbing alchohol
87% distilled water
it said to use a white scotch brite pad, i used a soft bristle brush to get in to the seams.

the transmission yoke & the differential yoke should be lined up not 180 out. if your pinion brg's are toast you should be able to here it, also you will have metal in the gear lube, the silver look.

mike, what do you mean by "low" areas? i would think the vertical bars should be black, but what else?

i saw the picture of doc's yacht the other day & it got me thinking, witch is a bad thing, where in southern AZ is there enough water for a boat that big?

thanks guys, with the knowledge i picked up here & some of my own i was able to complete my quest for total lubrication of my steering components. now with a little more air in the front tires my mono-axle manual steering should require less effort on my part.

i have one out of the eight steering grease fittings, the left spindle top one, that won't accept grease. anybody know any tricks to make the grease flow like the other seven? i changed the zerk, no help.

Help, i put new shocks on the "63" last weekend & when i was removing the fronts i noticed that the left tire hits the drag link before the stop hits the axle. The PO put P235 75 x 15 tires on the 5.5" steel wheels. Is the wider tires the problem or could it be something else?

ya i figured the guys in texas would be lower, but not alaska.
